New Ideas

I am trying new ways of placing the furniture in my Living Room in hopes of getting a Dining Set with a Hutch. I don't have anywhere to put things! Such a small problem I know, but I did have a little help from my "Little Ellen" :)

So with things this way it does seem like I could purchase a nice small dining set for in front of the window and the hutch would go on the wall to left of where I am standing to take this lovely picture

Which would mean I will need to find a new place for our clock!

Busy Busy Busy

The boxes are endless so it seems, there is my reason for the delay in blogging.
I shall return when the boxes are not in my way. :)

Meanwhile here is a picture of my adorable grandson who is already 2 Months Old and his beautiful Auntie Sa(Mantha).

Movin In Day Finally

Snow on our actual move in day last Friday!
Yes it is true we finally moved in our new home! Well since Friday we have been in it but not until today did we have our furniture so now it really feels like home.
Ellen is so happy she is rubbing up against everything rolling on the floor, feeling at home too. The picture's tell the story so enjoy and remember I have lots and lots of boxes to unpack! Yikes!

And...it stayed on the ground until two days later! This is where Ellen has pretty much called home since we arrived. :)
Plenty of unpacking to do! Feel free to come on by and help! :)

The Living Room is a Jumbled Mess and yes Ellen is in her "Spot"

My own bed at last! Yipee! :)
The Family Room/Lower Level/Basement is our "Fun Room" Lots of games, pool, poker, children's area and Movie Time will be happening here. Richard's Room for sure! :)

Lots more work to do, the boxes are hiding in many closets and areas so don't be fooled!

Megan, it is true I NEED your decorating help NOW! ;)

Just A Quick Update

We have officially moved...however our furniture has not. It will, or is due to arrive on Friday after our Thanksgiving Meal with our family in Ellicott City. We are having fun with our home, putting together shelves and getting ready for the big delivery on Friday.

I will post some pictures of our day of "Settlement" as it was snowing and beautiful here. We love it here...however we are looking forward to being with our children and grandson for Christmas.

Thought I would add an adorable picture of Mr. Emerick Paul..

Bulle Rock Kind of Day

Headed North to Bulle Rock (Havre de Grace) where our new home is as of Friday!

I took this today because it was so beautiful and sunny but very crisp outside. I found a new veterinarian for Ellen, a hairdresser for myself, love the new haircut. I even went to the new house to look around. It just was a Bulle Rock Kind of Day. :)

Beauty in Bulle Rock, not much more to say....

Anyway......

Anyway.....on with our stay in Chambersburg over the weekend...

We visited the place where Jennie Wade, the only Gettysburg citizen that was killed during the Battle of Gettysburg at only 20 years of age. She was staying with her sister in her home because her mother thought it would be a safer place for her during the hard times. The home was really amazing with just a few minor changes and repairs it remains how Jennie must have known it more than 100 years ago. She was killed by a gunshot that went through two doors. She was baking bread in the kitchen at the time for the Union Infantry. To see the actual bullet holes was a strange feeling.

Richard and Ellen before our Tour

Richard played a lot of golf with his free time prior to my arrival on the east coast. While playing golf at Locust Hill Golf Course at the 12Th hole is a wall left from a home after a battle during the Civil War.

Wall still standing left from the battle

Close up picture you can see all of the bullet holes in the walls. The battle took place on August 21, 1864 in Jefferson County. There are so many monuments and artifacts from the war to see and so much to learn. I am so interested in all of it.

And of course our "Little Ellen" was such a good traveller! She loves being back with her Dad reading the paper and doing cross word puzzles! :)

Weekend in Chambersburg, PA

We spent the weekend in Chambersburg PA and it was rather wet all weekend with rain pretty much the entire time. We still did what we wanted to do though. Went into Charles Town and actually got to shop in this really neat Retro store we have been eyeing for months online and then out here. We bought our kitchen table and chairs, well ordered them finally. Very exciting for us since we have wanted a retro set for a very long time.
We headed to Gettysburg and did some of the Battlefield tour with Richard as my tour guide. He loves the history there, well so do I but he is a great tour guide! We toured the home where the only civilian was shot and killed during the battle that took place in Gettysburg. I had toured it before but Richard had never been there. Oh and little Ellen enjoyed it as well, what a little trooper tour dog she is.
I did take some pictures and will load those later on.
The latest on our move, Friday is move in day! Wow finally....again thank you to my cousin Lynne, David and Big Ellen for opening their home to me(and little Ellen) for this long. :)
